ADG Proudly Welcomed Local Newspaper - The Albany Business Review to Company Headquarters in Cohoes, NY!

Aquatic Development Group (ADG) proudly welcomed local newspaper - the Albany Businesses Review to company headquarters in Cohoes, NY! The featured article showcases ADG's latest innovation, EpicSurf, a deep-water stationary surf wave, ADG's extensive history in designing and building waterparks and the company's manufacturing of over 550 wave systems worldwide. As ADG continues to expand it's equipment global business, ADG's COO Bruce Quay discusses the several projects in the works throughout North America, Europe, and the MENA region.

Since the 1970s, ADG has built hundreds of wave pools and systems for water parks and other venues. In recent decades, ADG has manufactured and installed more than a hundred FlowRider sheet waves – a common amenity of cruise ships, and water parks –  offering a boogie-boarding experience on a thin sheet of water that’s blasted over a trampoline-like surface.

By contrast, EpicSurf, ADG’s newest offering generates a deep-water wave producing an adjustable wave height from 2 to 5 feet allowing riders to use surfboards with fins.

The company built its first model at their headquarters where over successive summers, hosted an array of willing surfers, including the ISA Senegalese Surfing Federation, a group of adaptive surfers, and electronic music producer deadmau5, and more!

Surfing, which debuted as an Olympic sport in 2020, is growing in worldwide popularity, according to Bruce Quay, ADG’s Chief Operating Officer. The company in the past principally marketed its wave systems to North American customers, intermittently taking on international projects, Quay said. That’s changed in the last three years as they've sought to promote EpicSurf in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and more.

“It’s become over the last 10 years really the global epicenter for water park and resort development,” Quay said of the Middle East and North Africa, or MENA, region. Quay recently returned from a trade show in Dubai and is headed to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, next month, he said.
