About Us

Amusement Today, Inc., based in Arlington, Texas, was formed in January 1997 by three West Texas newspaper professionals, including Gary Slade, the publication’s only editor & publisher, who became sole owner in January 2001.

Amusement Today was formed to serve the amusement, theme and water park industries. It has since expanded its coverage to include the mobile industry.

Amusement Today is also home to the annual Golden Ticket Awards, a two-day industry event that allows for industry professionals to learn and socialize, all while honoring their own as the “Best of the Best” with the Golden Ticket Awards ceremony.

As a trade newspaper, the publication is focused on the news side of the amusement industry, providing amusement-related editorial through its print and digital publications and two electronic media outlets. The publication comprises 14 issues per year and is in a digital format - all free.

Amusement Today is also the only industry publication to promote the safety of the industry by publishing its monthly AIMS International News & Notes page. As a courtesy to the industry, the publication is mailed to all members of AIMS International.
