International Ride Training's Ride Camp is a one-of-a-kind safety seminar exclusively devoted to Ride Operations. Attended by some of the top industry professionals in the world, Ride Camp is focused on learning new skills to strengthen and enhance ride safety, improve efficiency, and exceed guest service expectations – all while offering the highest level of education the amusement industry provides for professional ride operator development. Ride Camp educational sessions are taught by passionate industry leaders who share their knowledge and best practices with tested and proven results.
Ride Camp 2021 is the only industry event to combine virtual and hands-on experience in a manner that will make a difference to your operation while still providing a safe in-person experience consistent with public health recommendations. To accomplish this, IRT is, for the first time, offering the choice of attending a hybrid Ride Camp, combining virtual education with in person attendance at one of five regional locations, or participating exclusively virtually with over thirty on-demand sessions.
For those that would like the in-person experience, including those needing to obtain or renew International Ride Operator Certification (“iROC”) Instructor status, our hybrid approach provides all that Ride Camp is known for, while keeping group sizes smaller in accordance with public health recommendations during the COVID-19 pandemic. iROC Certified Instructors are provided with the tools and resources needed to successfully iROC-certify their ride operators to join over 10,000 other certified operators world-wide.
Ride Campers joining us in person will have the choice of attending Ride Camp at any of the following locations:
- Carowinds, Charlotte, North Carolina (March 22-24)
- Kings Island, Mason, Ohio (Mid-April, exact date TBA)
- Mall of America, Bloomington, Minnesota (Mid-April, exact date TBA)
- American Dream, East Rutherford, New Jersey (Mid-April, exact date TBA)
- California’s Great America, Santa Clara, Caliornia (Mid-April, exact date TBA)
Our inaugural regional location for Ride Camp 2021, Carowinds, will be a three (3)-day event and will feature three (3) live sessions broadcast to all Ride Campers regardless of where or when they are attending. All other regional Ride Camps are two (2) days in length. Regardless of whether you attend at Carowinds or one of our other regional Camp locations, all Campers will have access to over thirty (30) on-demand pre-recorded educational sessions, including courses focused on:
- The 10 Critical Components of Ride Operator Safety, Guest Service and Efficiency;
- Operations in a COVID 19 World;
- Accessibility and the Americans With Disabilities Act;
- Cultural Awareness
- Motivating Ride Operators;
- Effective Training Tools and Techniques;
- How to Write an Effective SOP;
- Incident Response and Investigation;
- Ride Safety for Aquatic Attractions;
- Normalization of Deviation;
- And many others.
For those who are unable to attend an in-person regional Ride Camp, you still have a fantastic learning opportunity. For the first time, IRT is offering a completely virtual option at a substantial discount from the regular Ride Camp tuition rate. Ride Campers attending virtually will have full access to the entire on-demand training library as well as the three live-broadcast sessions during the Carowinds’ regional Ride Camp. While virtual Ride Campers will not receive iROC Instructor Certification, this option is a perfect way to experience the strength and depth of training Ride Camp is known for without ever having to leave home.
