Sign on to BridgeUSA Coalition's Letter to President Biden calling for action on the J-1 Summer Work Travel Program

NEAAPA remains seriously concerned with the lack of visa issuance capacity at U.S. embassies and consulates for the J-1 Summer Work Travel program. It is widely anticipated that there will be a much smaller number of students coming to the United States this year.

The J-1 BridgeUSA community has organized a business sign-on letter addressed to President Biden, explaining the ongoing challenges. We ask for your support by signing onto this letter. The deadline is Friday, April 16, at 5pm Eastern. The letter will be delivered on Monday, April 19.

NEAAPA is committed to supporting J-1 BridgeUSA programs. Please contact the NEAAPA office with any questions.

Tell the SBA to broaden the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant

Yesterday, NEAAPA President Dave Oberlander and I met with staff of Rep. Andrew Garbarino (NY-02) about getting a broader eligibility for businesses that can apply for a federal Shuttered Venue Operator's Grant. Rep. Garbarino is appealing to SBA Administrator Guzman to undertake emergency rulemaking to make this happen. To aid in this effort, he is circulating a "Dear Colleague" letter to his fellow Representatives to sign on.

The deadline has been extended to this Wednesday, April 14 at 6:00pm EDT for representatives to sign on. Please reach out to your Representative's office as soon as possible and ask them to sign on to this letter.

Our industry needs to have its voice heard loud and clear in Washington, D.C. on this issue, so we need as much support as we can get.

Should you have any questions, please send me an email or give me a call.

Sincerely,

Ed
